24^th January. Kent Branch 2nd AGM Meeting.

 Election of Committee.

 The Secretary (Mike Foote) and The Treasurer (John Bell) both agreed to serve a further 2 years on the Committee.

12^th February.  Service of Remembrance at the CDA Memorial Ramsgate Harbour

24^th February.  Several Branch members attended the unveiling of a Memorial Plaque at

Broadstairs Harbour for the GPO Cable Ship “Alert” lost during the last days of the war in 1945.

30^th March.  The meeting this month was held at Pembroke House, 11 members made the trip by mini-bus up the

M2 from Thanet. As usual the meeting was kept short to allow the members to make use of the bar and socialise.

A Kent Branch Crest was presented by Branch Secretary Mike Foote to Pembroke House Manager, Keith Rowbottom.

8^th to 11^th April.    FAAA Reunion Weekend at Bournemouth. This was attended by the Secretary and his wife.

6^th May. Eastchurch Memorial.

Kent Branch was represented by 5 members, Dinger Bell (Treasurer), Dick Richards, Norman Wilmshurst, Ernie Coppard and Mike Foote (Secretary).  Once again it was a very good day out, with a flypast by the Historic Flight aircraft. Tea and sticky cakes in the village hall for the veterans, and for the kids, a Lynx helicopter landed in the school playing fields for them to look over.

16^th July. Pembroke House Garden Party.

Despite the wet weather on the day, it did not dampen the enjoyment Kent Branch members

had meeting and talking with some old friends who are resident at Pembroke House.

Good company, very good BBQ and to complete the day, the Royal Marine Corp of Drums.

What more could you possibly want on a very wet Saturday afternoon.

19^th September.   Our 3^rd trip to Pembroke House for 2011 to hold the September meeting, 14 members attended.

“Up Spirits” with Norman Wilmshurst, Dick Richards & Jim Loveday.

4^th November.  Taranto Dinner.

Once again this proved to be a very enjoyable and successful evening, 28 members and friends

made up the list who attended the dinner at The Racing Greyhound pub Ramsgate.

17^th December. Christmas Lunch.

The lunch was attended and enjoyed by 19 members and friends, with drinks around the bar after.
